Former Auburnite Barrett to compete for Mrs. America Pageant crown

Stephanie Barrett, who grew up in Auburn and graduated from Auburn Riverside High School in 2007, competes for the Mrs. America Pageant title at Little Rock, Ark., on Aug. 26.

Barrett captured the crown in the Mrs. Nevada-America Pageant in Las Vegas on March 5 after entering the competition as Mrs. Clark County. Barrett placed first in a field of 15 competitors.

The winner of the Mrs. America Pageant moves onto China to compete in the Mrs. World Pageant.

Barrett was a standout athlete at Auburn Riverside. She received a basketball scholarship to Arizona State University and was limited to playing one season with the Sun Devils because of continuing injuries and multiple foot surgeries.

After hanging up her basketball jersey, she transferred to Brigham Young University, where she graduated with a degree in business management with an emphasis in finance.

Barrett, a senior business analyst for a gaming company, lives in Las Vegas with her husband, Adam, and their three children – Cash, 6, Paisley, 4 and Taj, 2.
