Gaelic Storm to play at Puyallup Fair; tickets go on sale Saturday

It’s amazing how a one-time pub band became an overnight success when they appeared in James Cameron’s mega-hit move, "Titanic".

It’s amazing how a one-time pub band became an overnight success when they appeared in James Cameron’s mega-hit move, “Titanic”.

Since their appearance on the big screen Gaelic Storm has sold out hundreds of theaters and performing arts centers, and has played to millions of Celtic music fans, topped the Billboard World Album Chart, and been a featured performer at the world’s largest Irish Festival.

The Gaelic Storm concert will be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 12 at the Puyallup Fair & Events Center’s Americraft ShowPlex in Puyallup. Tickets will go on sale on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 9 a.m. at: www.thefair.com/concerts/concert-info/?o=9ce70b7b97a52d3327e7f2d11a30d9d9 and Ticketmaster locations.

Tickets are $35 for the reserved seating, and $25 for general admission. Tempting food, wine, Irish beers and microbrews will be sold prior to, during and after the show.

Since their inception nearly 13 years ago, Gaelic Storm has developed a tremendous following with their unique sound, combining Celtic influences, feverish rock and roll intensity, and a unique blend of world rhythms.

Gaelic Storm has an impressive list of accomplishments, including seven Billboard chart-topping albums, a DVD, a full-length concert film, song placement on two EA Sports Games, a 2008 Hallmark greeting card featuring their song, “Kiss Me I’m Irish,” and countless television and radio appearances.

The group plays 125 dates per year, including headlining at the world’s largest Irish Festival, Milwaukee Irish Fest for the past six years, playing to crowds of 15,000 per performance. They added the National Celtic Festival in Melbourne, Australia to their list in 2008.
