Irish step-dancing sisters to perform at Auburn Ave

Seattle's Gothard Sisters, an Irish step-dancing trio, will perform their St. Patrick’s Day show at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the iconic Auburn Avenue Theater.

Seattle’s Gothard Sisters, an Irish step-dancing trio, will perform their St. Patrick’s Day show at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the iconic Auburn Avenue Theater.

The Gothard sisters – Greta, 23, Willow, 21, and Solana, 15 – are champion Irish dancers and musicians who perform entertaining shows for all ages across the country. The show will feature high-energy dancing, fast fiddling, beautiful vocals and many Irish favorites.

The Gothard sisters have been playing music and dancing since they were young. The girls played classical violin for many years before trying their hand at fiddling. The sister act already has produced several recordings and CDs, including their latest releases, “Celtic Rainbow” in 2009 and “Christmas” in 2010.

Greta, Willow and Solana are also competitive champion Irish dancers who have participated in the world championships four times in a row in places as far away as Belfast, Northern Ireland and Glasgow, Scotland.Last year alone, the sisters have performed in Indiana, Wisconsin, North Dakota, Idaho, Montana, Washington, Pennsylvania, New York and Georgia among other states.
