KidsDay comes to Les Gove Park on Friday

Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation is gearing up for its annual KidsDay event on Friday at Les Gove Park, 910 Ninth St. SE.

The free event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and offers inflatable rides, children’s activities, live stage entertainment, mini golf, hands-on art activities, food concessions, more than 100 information/activity vendors and a food court. Back again are the popular bungee trampolines, free face painting, an expanded touch-a-truck display and the ballistic swing.

On stage, The Brian Waite Band plays, followed by Recess Monkey, Eli Rosenblatt, Brian Vogan & His Good Buddies and more. The King County Library System presents Rosenblatt’s performance at 1:15 p.m.

Back is the ArtRageous Zone, which invites attendees to work alongside professional artists to create their own masterpieces to take home. Featured artists are Brian Lane, offering a Printmaking activity, Mary Ellen Bowers offering the Pointillism technique, and Crystal Lowy guiding children in the creation of speckled chalk and oil pastel drawings.

Les Gove Park features the popular Discovery Playground, a spraypark, bocce courts and other attractions. Les Gove Park is home to the Community & Events Center, The REC – Auburn Teen Center, the White River Museum and the Auburn Library. Parking is available in and around the park, with overflow parking at Grace Community Church and street parking surrounding the park.
