Metal pioneers Korn performs this summer at the seventh annual Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, one of the world’s biggest heavy music touring festivals, that stops at Auburn’s White River Amphitheatre on July 8.
Korn is scheduled to play alongside Avenged Sevenfold, Asking Alexandria and Trivium.
The Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum hard rock innovators – Jonathan Davis (vocals), James “Munky” Shaffer (guitar), Brian “Head” Welch (guitar), Reggie “Fieldy” Arvizu (bass) and Ray Luzier (drums) – continue to tour in support of their latest album, The Paradigm Shift.
Released Oct. 8 via Prospect Park , The Paradigm Shift – the band’s 11th studio album – debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hard Rock Albums chart and at No. 8 on the Top 200 chart.
According to Billboard.com, “… this debut ties Korn with Dave Matthews Band for the most top 10 albums by a band in the Sound Scan era (May 1991-present).”
The album features the single “Spike In My Veins” – whose provocative video “starring” fugitive Edward Snowden, Miley Cyrus, disgraced Toronto mayor Rob Ford and Kanye West debuted on RollingStone.com (Feb. 6) – and first single “Never Never,” which brought the Grammy Award-winning multi-platinum hard rock innovators a new career milestone by achieving the No. 1 spot on the Active Rock Airplay chart and No. 2 on the Rock Chart, marking their biggest radio success ever.
The new album marks the return of Welch, an original guitarist and founding Korn member, and serves as the followup to the band’s 2011 critically acclaimed trend-setting dubstep metal hybrid, The Path of Totality, which was named Revolver Magazine’s “Album Of the Year.”
