Comedian Kristin Key, a Last Comic Standing semifinalist who has performed at The Improv, hits the Auburn Ave stage at 7:30 p.m. March 19.
Key has appeared on The Bob and Tom Show, Comics Unleashed and major television networks such as VH-1, Bravo, and Fox Reality.
The daughter of a Christian minister, Key began her comedy career at the age of 19 in Amarillo, Texas as the house MC at the Amarillo Comedy Club. In 2006, when the club closed its doors, Key moved to Austin to pursue the big city comedy scene. Three months after the move, the 30-year-old Key auditioned for The Last Comic Standing and became the youngest person to make it into the semifinals.
Key has since moved to Long Beach, Calif., but is still well known for her rapid fire style that made her so popular in the Texas panhandle. She now plays Los Angeles comedy clubs and tours to Colleges and Comedy clubs across the country.
Key now has two full-length comedy Cads, “The Preachers Kid Gone’ Wild” and “Buckle Up” with Uproar Records and is still going strong. She plans to record a new CD in June.
Comedy at the Ave is a monthly comedy series that takes place at the Auburn Avenue Theater. Key will be joined by two other comedians for the March 19 program.
