Oktoberfest Northwest comes to Puyallup

Oktoberfest Northwest presented by Emerald Queen Casino, scheduled Oct. 7-9 at the Puyallup Fair and Events Center, celebrates all things German in its seventh year with a Munich-inspired Festhalle Biergarten, traditional German foods and fun games for all ages.

Oktoberfest Northwest is a collaborative effort between Festivals Inc. and the Western Washington Fair Association.

Oktoberfest Northwest at a glance

• Event: Seventh annual Oktoberfest Northwest presented by Emerald Queen Casino will celebrate German culture and the tradition of Oktoberfest and the harvest. Two entertainment stages, Oktoberfest headliner Manuela Horn and Allgäuer Alpin Cats from Bavaria, one of the largest Oktoberfest Biergartens in Western Washington, exhibits, traditional German cuisine and beers, a Root Beer Garden, the Hammerschlagen Tournament of Champions, the Sport Haus featuring college and NFL games and much more. Fourth annual Oktoberfest Northwest Wiener Dog Races is Oct. 9.

• Location: Puyallup Fair and Events CenterEvent Hours: Friday/Saturday – 11 a.m.- midnight; Sunday – 11 a.m.- 6 p.m. After 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, guests must be 21 years of age or older to enter the Festhalle Biergarten

• Admission: Free on Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Half-price tickets on Sunday courtesy of BECU. Regular ticket prices are $10 for adults and children age 12 andunder are free.

• Parking/camping: Parking is free! RV camping is available for $20 by calling 253-841-5057 in advance ($25 day-of). RV camping spots provide full hook-ups.Camping is for self-contained trailers only (no tents).
