From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 17, the City of Auburn will unleash Petpalooza, its annual celebration of all things pet on Game Farm Park.
And as always, the popular Dog Trot 3K/5K Fun Run will begin at 9:30 a.m. (See the schedule and registration rules here.)
This free event for pet lovers — and special day for all of your four-legged family members or other furry friends out there — is now in its 18th year, offering live entertainment to include Reptile Isle and the popular Emerald Downs “Unleashed” Pet Contest.
Two live bands will perform and the Downtown Auburn Cooperative will host a beer and wine garden next to the stage.
And what would a proper Petpalooza be without Family Dog Training Center’s agility area? That’s where the Seattle FlyDogs will do their stuff, and a variety of vendors will offer low-cost pet services, animal adoptions, samples, information and a huge selection of animal-related products.
Be sure to catch the Canine Stars Stunt Dog Show. The Canine Stars presents a team of talented rescue dogs and guest stars from throughout the world performing incredible feats of doggie athleticism like dog dancing, disc dogs, high jumping, agility, tricks, and stunts, as seen on “America’s Got Talent” and Nickelodeon. Shows are at 10:15 a.m., 12:15 p.m., 2:15 p.m. and 4:15 p.m.
This year’s festival will see the return of the 15’ x 50’ no-barrier petting zoo. Once inside the enclosure, all the animals roam freely with the public. The zoo has wallabies, goats, sheep, chickens, rabbits and more.
Children can also enjoy animal-related face painting and free inflatable rides. The public is welcome to bring leashed, license, and well-behaved pets along.
