“Holy guacamole! I am a Chihuahua!” The popular little kitten with big ears – and even bigger dreams – unleashes his rambunctious imagination on stage with Heavier Than Air Family Theatre Co.

“Skippyjon Jones”, the new musical based on the best-selling children’s book by Judy Schachner, opens at 7 p.m. Friday. There will be five weekend performances through Saturday, June 25 on the main campus of Green River College, 12401 SE 320th St., Auburn.

The amusing production features a family of kittens, a pack of Chihuahuas and a buzzing bandito, all portrayed by local actors with whimsical ‘south of the border’ charm. Fans of the well-known children’s series will recognize their favorite characters, some brought to life by young thespians that cut their acting teeth on the company’s outstanding summer camp program.
