Kids showcase their skills as responsible dog owners through interactive displays at the 4-H Dog Fair at Argus Ranch Facility for Dogs, near Flaming Geyser State Park, next Tuesday and Wednesday, July 19-20.

King County 4-H members will display their skills, educate the public, and many will qualify to compete at the state-level September Puyallup Fair during the two-day event.

The fair is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

The public can learn about responsible dog ownership, gain some ideas from the equipment, arts, crafts, ceramics and photography projects the kids have made. The public also can see the kids show off skills they learned in King County Dog 4-H: showmanship, regular obedience, brace obedience with two dogs and team obedience with four kids and four dogs. Some also will attempt to rally compliance with a course of fun obedience challenges.

Dog 4-H clubs for 5-19-year-old kids are located throughout King County and include mutts as well as purebred dogs. Members and their families have fun with their dogs as they learn and develop leadership, citizenship and life skills.

For more information about the event or 4-H clubs in the area, call Marilyn Johnson at 253-639-0549.
