The Auburn Valley YMCA, Doxon Toyota, Emerald Downs and other community partners recently teamed up for the second annual Give Together Brighten the Holidays for Families in Our Community drive.

The program raised more than $7,300 in donations, including $5,300 from Doxon Toyota, $1,517 from Emerald Downs and $500 from Walmart. Walgreen’s provided a giving tree in the dealership’s showroom.

The program purchased 600 gifts to referred Auburn-area families from the Y, Child Haven, the Children’s Home Society, Auburn Youth Resources, and Ilalko and Gildo Rey elementary schools. Children received new winter coats, boots, shoes, hats, gloves and toys. Parents were given household necessities and a family game.

Doxon Toyota donated a portion of the profit from each car sold, and Emerald Downs donated $1 per admission during the campaign.
