Angel Wings Foundation wins online contest; AYR second

Angel Wings Foundation – a Bonney Lake-based organization with a mission to help those who need it the most and expect it the least – won the Breast Diagnostic Center's online contest and a $2,500 donation.

Angel Wings Foundation – a Bonney Lake-based organization with a mission to help those who need it the most and expect it the least – won the Breast Diagnostic Center’s online contest and a $2,500 donation.

Auburn Youth Resources, focused on providing services for low-income and under privileged youth, children and families in King and Pierce counties, received the second most votes and a $1,000 donation in the “Our Community. Your Choice.” contest.

“As a business in Auburn and Federal Way, we want to support the people we serve,” said Dr. Tim Blackwelder, of the center, the contest’s sponsor. “‘Our Community. Your Choice.’ is a great way to show local charities and organizations that we appreciate and support all they do here in South Puget Sound. Thank you to all the nominees for all the work you do.”

The contest, which took place in August, asked patients and friends to nominate their favorite local organization or charity. Five finalists were named and the organization with the most votes received charitable contributions from the center.

The other nominees included The Soup Ladies of Black Diamond, Northwest Harvest of Kent, and Catholic Community Health Centers of Western Washington.

BDC Radiology is a full-service regional breast care center serving the Auburn, Federal Way and Tacoma corridors. They specialize in 3D mammography and breast biopsies.
