Armed robberies and a hate crime | Auburn police blotter

Following is a sample from the Auburn police log.

Strong-arm robbery

Auburn police were dispatched on Aug. 13 after receiving a report at approximately 11:56 p.m. regarding a strong-arm robbery at an apartment complex in the 12800 block of Southeast 312th Street. According to the department’s public information log, the incident involved an assault, with the single victim having his cellphone and wallet stolen from him in the incident.

DUI vehicular assault

Auburn police were dispatched on Aug. 11 after receiving a report at approximately 8:33 p.m. regarding a vehicle collision. According to the department’s public information log, a two-vehicle collision on 2425 Auburn Way North resulted in injuries. According to the log, the driver of the offending vehicle was driving under the influence at the time of the accident, classifying the incident as vehicular assault.

Police collected blood samples as evidence in the incident, in addition to having multiple witnesses at the scene at the time, according to the public log. The crash resulted in the impounding of the victim’s vehicle, with two occupants in the victim’s vehicle at the time of the incident.

Robbery involving firearms

Auburn police were dispatched on Aug. 6 after receiving a report at approximately 8:30 p.m. regarding a robbery at a gas station convenience store in the 500 block of A Street Southeast. According to the department’s public information log, the robbery involved firearms, with $60 in cash, lottery tickets, consumables, and $100 worth of tobacco stolen in the incident.

Hate crime

Auburn police were dispatched on Aug. 6 after receiving a report at approximately 9:54 p.m. regarding a felony harassment incident. According to the department’s public information log, the call involved an unspecified hate crime in the 1500 block of Auburn Way North. The department’s log listed two victims and two vehicles with unspecified involvement in the incident — a green 2007 Dodge and a white 2008 Ford. The log, released on Aug. 7, listed no suspects.

Shots fired

Auburn police were dispatched on Aug. 13 after receiving a report at approximately 2:30 p.m. regarding a weapons offense. According to the department’s public information log, the department received a report of shots fired near the 1300 block of 31st Street Southeast. The department’s log lists a single bullet casing as evidence in the incident.
