Auburn and Valley SWAT arrest man in Auburn

According to Auburn police, this arrest is part of a larger narcotics investigation.

Auburn police, alongside Valley SWAT, served a search warrant at an Auburn home and arrested a man, but according to the department, the arrest was part of a larger narcotics investigation.

According to the Auburn Police Department (APD), on Oct. 22, with assistance from the Valley SWAT team, it served a search warrant at a residence located in the 300 block of Park Avenue in Auburn. According to APD, the suspect was arrested on the sidewalk near the residence while walking toward the home.

APD stated that the man was arrested on two outstanding warrants. The first warrant was a failure to appear, controlled substance possession warrant, and the second was for second-degree criminal trespass and obstructing a public servant warrant. APD stated that while executing the search warrant, APD recovered a stolen gun.

According to APD spokesperson Kolby Crossley, this arrest occurred at about 2:30 p.m. and was part of a larger narcotics investigation. Crossby said that SWAT was utilized in this arrest based on the criminal history of the occupants at the residence, who were also known to be armed.

Crossby said this case will be referred to the King County Prosecutor’s Office, but when charges will be referred is still unknown. Crossby said that the case is still an active investigation with additional follow-up needed.
