Hulan Fleming: 1-7 p.m., June 12, Auburn Fine Arts Gallery, at 1208 E. Main St. Fine arts painter Hulan Fleming to appear. It has been nearly 30 years since Fleming has demonstrated his painting techniques and displayed his works in the Auburn area. Fleming is well known for his Western paintings and seascapes. Senior fishing weekend: 9 a.m., June 12-dusk, June 13, Mill Pond, 600 Oravetz Road, across from Auburn Riverside High School. Seniors 50 and over invited to fish the stocked pond. No licenses are necessary, as the event is held on Washington’s free fishing weekend. The Senior Fishing Derby will be held 9 a.m.-noon on June 12. Tackle, bait and rods will be provided for those who need it. A plaque will be awarded to the angler who catches the largest fish. Auburn International Farmers Market: 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Sundays, June 13 – Sept. 26, Auburn Station Plaza, 23 A St. SW. Opening for its second season. More than 35 vendors offering a variety of fresh locally grown farmed based foods, hand-crafted items and concession stands that are restaurant based but feature a home-cooked taste. The weekly market also will include free performances, guest chef with farm fresh ingredients, children’s activities from face painting to hands on activities to storytelling. Auburn Garden Club Plant Sale: 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., June 13, parking lot of Peckenpaugh Drug Store at the corner of East Main and M Streets. White River Chainsaw Carving Championships: July 9-11, Pacific City Park, 600 3rd Ave. SE, Pacific. A 12-person field will compete for cash and prizes.
