A scrap metal drive – held in conjunction with Auburn’s Clean Sweep – is Sunday and Monday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to benefit COTA for Cullen.
Cullen Steele is an 11-year old Kent boy and Auburn student with pulmonary hypertension and in need of a heart and double–lung transplant. A group of community volunteers is working with the Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) to raise $75,000 for Cullen’s transplant-related expenses.
Bring your scrap metal to the parking lot at the northeast corner of 2nd Street Southwest and South Division Street in Auburn (Green River Music Building). The public can bring everything from aluminum cans to washers and dryers and other clean scrap metal to the site. Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners and other items contaminated with hazardous chemicals cannot be accepted.
Business with substantial amounts of scrap metal can schedule a pickup between May 9-13. Call Kimberly at Binford Metals at 253-854-8000 or 253-205-6466.
