Auburn’s Michael O’Conner captured the first-place prize for his water media work, “November Sound”, at the Puyallup Fair Fine Art Show.

The show brought in more than a thousand works of art from professional and amateur artists. The artwork will be on display on the second floor of the pavilion with many pieces for sale throughout the fair, Sept. 10-26.

Auburn’s Debra Cepeda and Elizabeth Sala took second places in their respective mediums and categories.

For the first time at the Fine Art Show, a special competition for pastel artists was held. Artists were invited to enter one pastel work in this special category, which was judged separately. Pastel and other artists alike came together and submitted some of their finest work.
