Laura Westergard is the new executive director of the Auburn Downtown Association, it was announced today.
Westergard, an Auburn resident for more than 14 years, is co-founder of Auburn Valley Creative Arts and the Auburn Art Walk. She serves on the Auburn Art Walk Planning Board and the City of Auburn Arts Commission.
Westergard’s professional background is in higher education, nonprofit organizations and corporate headquarter settings. In addition, she has a master’s degree in organizational leadership and a certificate in human resources from Chapman University, and a degree in English with an emphasis in writing from the University of Puget Sound.
Westergard is passionate about promoting the image of downtown Auburn. Working in partnership with business owners, service organizations and government agencies, Westergard is committed to build strong relationships to ensure future growth of historic downtown.
The Auburn Downtown Association has been active in bringing events to downtown Auburn for more than 25 years. Upcoming downtown events include the Auburn Art Walk on May 10, the City of Auburn Birthday Celebration, June 14, and the Wine and Music Festival, July 20.
The association works collaboratively with the City, the Chamber of Commerce, and other organizations to enrich the city’s center.
