Every dollar donated to the Auburn Food Bank is being matched by Coastal Farm & Ranch now through Jan. 31 with a goal of raising enough to feed more than 1,500 people.

“Our store in Auburn is fortunate to be part of a such a terrific community,” said Coastal Farm & Ranch owner Buzz Wheeler. “This is our opportunity to give back and support the less fortunate families and hard working people in need of a good meal.”

Coastal is matching every dollar donated up to a $1,000, meaning the Auburn Food Bank will receive $2,000.The public can make cash doaations directly to the Auburn Food Bank at 930 18th Place NE or through its Facebook page at www.facebook.com/auburn.foodbank.

“We appreciate the support of Coastal Farm and Ranch,” says Auburn Food Bank’s Debbie Christian. “This time of year we have plenty of families and individuals in need and this donation will make a big difference.”

The food bank is able to purchase food at a substantial discount. $2,000 will purchase approximately 4,000 pounds of food to feed hungry people in the Auburn area.

The matching program ends Jan. 31.
