An Auburn Goodwill Store-sponsored blood drive will take place Monday (Jan. 3) at its store, 1519 Auburn Way S. The Puget Sound Blood Center has a goal of 15 donors for the first-time partnership at the store.

“Especially after the holidays, the need for donors is always critical,” said Nikki Watkinson, donor resource representative for the Puget Sound Blood Center. “We need to ensure blood is available throughout the year.”

Donors are encouraged to make a donation appointment online at www.psbc.org. Walk-in donors also are welcome. The blood drive will run from 1:30-4 p.m. For eligibility questions, call 800.398.7888. The process takes about an hour.

“This is a great opportunity to clean out closets and drop by a donation of clothes before going to give blood and taking advantage of great values in the store,” said Janet Robbins, Auburn Goodwill Store manager. “Donations of gently used clothes and household items support our job training and placement programs that help people get jobs and are tax deductible.”
