Auburn high schools to host spring plant sales

The Auburn High School and Auburn Mountainview High School horticulture programs will host their annual spring plant sales beginning in May.

The Auburn High School and Auburn Mountainview High School horticulture programs will host their annual spring plant sales beginning in May.

Auburn High School Horticulture Club will host its plant sale at the Auburn High School greenhouse, located at 800 2nd Street NE, on May 5-7 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and on Saturday, May 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Auburn Mountainview High School Horticulture Club will host its plant sale at the Auburn Mountainview High School greenhouse, located at 28900 124th Ave. SE, on May 6-7 from 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; May 8, 8 a.m.-1 p.m.; May 11-12, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.; and May 17-21, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Parking and admission are free. The plant sales are open to the public.

More than 200 varieties of annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables, small fruits, shrubs, groundcovers and hanging baskets are for sale. Prices range from 50 cents to $36.

All plants are hand grown by students of the FFA and Horticulture Program. All proceeds will help fund next year’s greenhouse crop and FFA activities (travel, banquet, community service projects and campus beautification).
