Auburn High School band students Mikah Loomis, Austin Clark and Madeleine Jones recently auditioned for and were selected to participate in the Western International Band Clinic (WIBC) honor band on Nov. 22-25 at the Sea-Tac Doubletree hotel.
Sammantha Hall was selected as an alternate.
Loomis, Clark and Hall play the clarinet and Jones plays the flute.
The audition process included each student recording two pieces of music that were evaluated by a panel of professional musicians and educators at the WIBC who selected the participants.
During the four-day clinic, students will play in one of four bands directed by world renowned composers, educators and conductors. The culmination of the clinic will be a gala concert of the honor bands.
Students from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, California, Wyoming, Montana, Nevada and British Columbia audition for this event.
