Auburn Mountainview tops Peninsula 99-88 | Prep boys swimming and diving

The Auburn Mountainview boys swimming and diving team upended South Puget Sound League 3A rival Peninsula Thursday at Peninsula High School in Gig Harbor. Junior Owen Lempert and senior Luke Lavine led the way for the Lions, each capturing two individual first-places and contributing to the team's relay wins.

The Auburn Mountainview boys swimming and diving team upended South Puget Sound League 3A rival Peninsula Thursday at Peninsula High School in Gig Harbor.

Junior Owen Lempert and senior Luke Lavine led the way for the Lions, each capturing two individual first-places and contributing to the team’s relay wins.

Lempert was first in the 200-meter individual medley with a 2 minute, 33.39 second time and also finished first in the 100 breast, with a 1:17.11.

Lavine was first in the 50 free with a 25.93 and won the 100 free with a 58.88.

Lavine and Lempert, along with Valen Hill and Chase Murphy, captured first in the 200 free relay with an 1:50.5 time.

Lavine, Lempert and Murphy, along with Ian Portmann, were first in the 400 free relay with a 4:15.79.

Murphy also nabbed an individual first-place finish in the 100 fly with a 1:11.47 time.

Auburn Mountainview’s 200 medley relay team – with Nick Jessee, Jimmy McNab, Murphy and Portmann – also finished first with a 2:20.78.
