Auburn Police detectives drove to Bellingham and arrested a man who thought he was meeting a 15-year-old girl for sex.

Two weeks ago, 22-year-old Brennon Cloud began a cell phone text conversation with detectives posing as a 15-year-old girl. Cloud’s texts became more and more sexually suggestive and graphic, eventually asking to meet her for sexual purposes, police said.

Cloud had his first appearance in King County Court today. Probable cause was found for communicating with a minor for immoral purposes, authorities said. Bail was set for $200,000.

Cloud has two prior convictions for assault 2 with sexual motivation and rape, making the latest charge a Class C felony. He also was in violation of his Department of Corrections restrictions by having contact with a juvenile female.
