March 23

Theft from vehicle: Overnight, 3810 Auburn Way S. The manager of Opportunity Industries called to report that persons unknown had stolen an assortment of tools from a work van. Police did not disclose a value for the missing tools.

Obstructing justice: 12:30 p.m., 1825 C Place Southeast. Police arrested a man on several warrants for probable casue from a previous case and new charges, after he tried to hide from officers.

Theft from motor vehicle: 7 p.m., 101 Auburn Way S. Somebody entered a woman’s vehicle — maybe locked, maybe not — and stole her purse and its contents.

Trespassing and punches thrown: 11:11 p.m., 2402 Auburn Way S. A drunken man provoked a fight in the Galaxy Lounge, netting himself several punches in the face. The victim did not wish to pursue charges. Casino authorities permanently barred the intoxicated dude from the Casino, telling him to get out right away or wait around for police to arrest him. He began to leave, screaming profanities on his way out to mark the occasion. An African-American man took exception to the racial slurs, and the two began to tangle. Police arrested the man for trespassing and disorderly conduct.

Commercial burglary: 3:30 a.m., 204 H St. NW. Having entered the secured lot of Seattle Automotive Distribution, a burglar damaged the locks to two of the box trucks, got nothing and left with his accomplice in a dark-colored sedan.

Vehicle theft: 9:27 a.m., 20500 block of 55th Avenue South. A thief or several thieves stole an undrivable Ford pickup from a residence between March 20 and March 26.

Property theft: 10:13 a.m., 600 block of 6th Street Southeast. Somebody swiped the battery from a vehicle parked in an apartment lot.

Hit and run: 4:29 p.m., 2000 block of Auburn Way South. A woman reported that she had just been the victim of a hit-and-run in the 2000 block of Auburn Way South.

Commercial burglary: 7:42 p.m., 1306 69th Street Southeast. Police arrested a man and three boys after they pried open a concession stand window to steal items inside. Post Miranda, the subjects fessed up to breaking into the concession stand. Police recovered the stolen items and returned them to the concession stand.

Auto theft: 8:29 p.m., 3300 block of Auburn Way South. A woman left her silver Toyota Corolla running unattended for a moment and thieves, on the scene to take advantage of the opportunity, stole it.
