Auburn Police responded to the following calls for service, among many others, between July 16 and 20:

July 17

Vandalism: Overnight, 3502 Auburn Way S. In the wee small hours, a person or persons unknown to police smashed out a window in one of the portable classrooms at Chinook Elementary School, but did not go inside. Police did not disclose a value for the window.

Aggressive begging: 11:35 a.m., 500 Auburn Way S. Police arrested a man for putting too much late morning va va va voom! into his mooching.

Arson: 2:40 p.m., 900 block of Auburn Way S. Someone set a mattress valued at $50 ablaze on the northwest corner behind The Farmers Market.

Theft of liquor: 12:40 p.m., 2115 Auburn Way S. A woman stole two bottles of Crown Royal, thus depriving the Muckleshoot Smoke Shop of profits that should have come to it.

Theft: 5:28 p.m., 1620 Industry Drive SW. A man complained that someone had stolen a fire suppression device from the undisclosed building he manages.

July 18

Stolen vehicle: 2:49 a.m., 2900 block of M Street Southeast. Officers checking into undisclosed suspicious activity discovered an unreported stolen vehicle.

Theft: 10:49 a.m., 202 Cross St. SE. MultiCare Auburn Urgent Care complained that an unknown person had stolen the swivel cap from its fire hydrant.

Vandalism: 11:45 p.m., 1200 block of 28th Street Southeast. Late in the evening, under the cover of darkness, somebody bent on mischief vandalized a man’s fence in ways undisclosed.

July 20

Trespassing: 1:11 p.m., 912 Harvey Road NE. The ownership of Colortronics decided they no longer wanted a man about the joint, kicking up a fuss, causing trouble, so out he went until 2019.

Theft: 2 p.m., 4200 block of A Street Southeast. A man called 911 to complain that someone had broken into his truck and stolen tools therefrom.

Theft: 3 p.m., 801 Auburn Way N. Somebody stole a man’s bike, which the man had left parked in front of the Fred Meyer store.
