Auburn police responded to the following calls for service, among many others, between July 19 and July 26:
July 19
Theft from motor vehicle: 6:28 a.m., 3702 C St. N.E. Vandals attacked two vehicles, stealing undisclosed property from one while those vehicles were parked during the wee hours at FedEx Ground Distribution.
Purse theft: 10:51 a.m., 1269 Supermall Way S.W. A 16-17-year-old boy, with short brown hair, of slender build, wearing a grey t-shirt, red-gray plaid pajama pants and a red hat, swiped a woman’s purse near Vision Quest at the Auburn Supermall. An off-duty Tukwila PD officer chased the kid and recovered the purse, but not so the thief.
Shoplifting: 4:09 p.m., 101 Auburn Way S. Cheese, a pack of sausages and a beer had been the intended consumables on a shoplifter’s menu, but store security caught the man and police arrested him.
Shoplifting: 6:50 p.m., 1101 Supermall Way S.W. A male tried to steal a shirt from Zumiez but got himself arrested.
Street robbery with firearm: 8:55 p.m., 20 block of E Street Northeast. A male told police that another male had robbed him of something at gunpoint near the Auburn Airport, but before police could get there, the bad guy was gone.
Obstructing justice: 11:10 p.m., 3700 block of D Street Southeast. Police arrested a kid after he fled from officers as they were investigating an assault in progress.
July 20
Theft: 8:27 a.m., 1701 Auburn Way S. Somebody swiped eight propane tanks from the Walgreens on Auburn Way South. Police did not disclose a value for the missing propane.
Burglary: Overnight, 1936 F St. S.E. Someone forced open a shed at the Sundancer Apartments and stole 5 and 1 gallon gas cans.
Shoplifting: 7:10 p.m., 1101 Supermall Way S.W. A boy stole a bracelet from Spencer’s Gifts at the Supermall. Police did not disclose a value for the missing merchandise.
Shoplifting: 7:58 p.m., 1702 Auburn Way N. Police arrested a woman for shoplifting $43.85 worth of undisclosed merchandise at Top Food & Drug.
July 21
Disorderly conduct: 6:27 p.m., Auburn Way S. Police arrested a drunken man for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after he tried to confront several women and get into their vehicles without their say so.
July 22
Vehicular assault: 3:37 p.m., 31000 block of 104th Avenue Southeast. A woman driving under the influence of some intoxicant lost control of her vehicle, rolled it and slammed into an embankment, breaking her passenger’s back and severely lacerating that person’s arm. Police arrested the woman for vehicular assault and driving under the influence.
Shoplifting: 4:15 p.m., 1101 Supermall Way S.W. A boy stole a hat from Zumiez, but the store manager apprehended him and insisted on filing charges.
July 23
Shoplifting: 8:36 p.m., 1406 Lake Tapps Parkway S.E. Police arrested a girl for shoplifting $71.44 worth of miscellaneous products from a grocery store and released her to her mother.
Theft: 11:59 p.m., 32700 block of 110th Avenue Southeast. A woman returned from vacation and discovered that her house sitter had thrown numerous parties and that numerous personal items were not to be found.
Shoplifting: 4:57 p.m., 1057 Supermall Way S.W. Marshall’s security sees this female stuff clothing into a bag, sees said female leave store with bag without paying, arrests thieving female.
July 26
Robbery at Starbucks: 8:04 p.m., 1420 Harvey Road N.E. Two women were sitting at a table outside the Harvey Road Starbucks when a man approached and snatched their purses off the table. One of the women tried to hold her purse, but the robber tore it from her hand, ripping off her finger nail.
