Auburn Police blotter | June 1

Auburn Police responded to the following calls for service, among many others, between May 20 and and 27:

May 20

Auto theft 2 a.m., 31000 block of 104th Avenue Southeast. A man complained that a woman he knows from a local gambling establishment took his wheels without his say-so and zipped off.

May 23

Theft: 3 p.m., 3702 Auburn Way S. Officers responded to a complaint of theft by deception.

May 24

Controlled substance: 7:11 a.m., 200 1st St. NE. Police busted two women for having drug paraphernalia on their persons after they were contacted at a bus stop for a warrant or warrants.

Strong arm robbery of chain store: 12:15 p.m., 4010 A St. SE. A woman stuffed her shopping bag with five big bottles of booze and left Albertsons without paying. When employees confronted the thief, she used a can of pepper spray to threaten them so she could keep the purloined hooch.

Unlawful burning: 6:25 p.m., 4200 block of A Street Southeast. Police investigated a reckless fire.

Weapons offense: 7:45 p.m., 3400 block of C Street Northeast. A male unintentionally shot himself, result undisclosed.

May 27

Shoplifting … no, wait, drugs: 2:48 p.m., 4000 block of A Street Southeast. Police busted a guy for shoplifting then discovered that he had methamphetamines upon his shoplifting person.
