Auburn Police blotter | March 6

Auburn Police responded to numerous calls for service between Feb. 24 and March 2, among them the following:

Feb. 24

Felony vandalism: 7:46 a.m., 2707 I St. NE. A person, or persons, unknown damaged numerous government vehicles in undisclosed ways.

Theft from motor vehicle: 12:40 a.m., 2200 block of 55th Street Southeast. Somebody stole a laptop from a car in the Edgeview neighborhood.

Burglary: 8:30 p.m., 101 Auburn Way S. A man entered the employee-only area at Safeway and snatched power tools that belonged to store maintenance.

Shoplifting: 11:01 a.m., 4310 A St. SE. A man was busy stealing two tire inflators from AutoZone when an employee saw what was going on and tried to stop him, but the thief executed a successful skedaddle on foot.

Drugs, and lots more: 10:07 a.m., 800 block of B Street Southeast. Police busted a man for unlawful possession of a firearm, possessing illegal drugs, possessing drug paraphernalia, possessing motor vehicle theft tools, and for possessing counterfeit bills.

Theft: 9:20 p.m., 1243 Auburn Way S. Pizza Hut reported a theft of services and bogus money, what and how much undisclosed.

Feb. 28

Assault: 10:50 a.m., 400 block of N Street Northeast. A female complained that her boyfriend’s girlfriend had assaulted her.

Auto theft: 6:25 p.m., 1101 Outlet Collection Way SW. Somebody stole a purse from a fitting room at Nordstrom Rack and then stole the victim’s vehicle from the parking lot.

Found property: 9:30 p.m., 2117 Auburn Way S. Somebody found a pistol in the trash at the Muckleshoot Bingo Hall.

March 2

Forgery: 11:30 p.m., 2402 Auburn Way S. Police arrested man for trying to cash a funky check at the Muckleshoot Casino.
