Sept. 12

Theft: 12:52 p.m., 700 block of 12th Street Northeast. An unknown human entered someone’s unlocked vehicle and stole the stereo and an undisclosed amount of money.

Theft: 12:41 p.m., 401 8th St. SW. A woman called to report that somebody had swiped her cell phone while she was staying at the Best Western Peppertree in Auburn.

Sept. 13

Vandalism: 6 a.m., 1000 block of 37th Street Southeast. Vandals unknown wreaked havoc on property at Gildo Rey Elementary, cutting a gate padlock, cutting chains on play equipment and breaking a large mosaic planter. Police did not disclose a value for the damages.

Shoplifting: 12:41 p.m., 1702 Auburn Way N. Store employees spotted two unfamiliar women leaving the store, pushing a shopping cart full of goodies without going through the very necessary formality of actually paying for said goodies, then fleeing in an older Ford pickup.

Vandalism: 6 a.m., 620 37th St. SE. Unknown persons broke out six windows at Mt. Baker Middle School over the weekend. Police did not put a price tag on the damage.

Burglary: 7 a.m., 5100 block of O Street Northeast. Somebody broke into a construction site’s cargo container over the weekend and stole hand tools, power tools and a five-gallon gas can. Police did not disclose a value for the items.

Theft from motor vehicle: 12:44 p.m., 11 3rd St. NW. A woman left her vehicle to go inside the Post Office, and though she was only inside a minute, some thieving person took advantage of the situation by smashing her car window and swiping her purse. Police did not disclose the value of the missing items or the cost of the damage.

Sept. 14

Theft: 3:06 p.m., 2707 I St. NE. Somebody or several somebodies stole copper wire from the base of a cellular phone tower.

Purse theft: 10 a.m., 400 block of 29th Street Southeast. A woman reported her purse stolen while she was in the community service office at the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Vandalism: 4:39 p.m., 700 block of 47th Street Southeast. Some rock chucker chucked a rock at a sliding glass window, damaging said window.

Trespassed: 6:46 p.m., 260 block of 44th Street Northwest. Three persons learned the consequences of Dumpster diving – banishment from the locale.

Vandalism: 2:29 a.m., 500 block of 8th Street Northeast. Police arrested a man for malicious mischief after he broke several windows on his brother-in-law’s vehicle.

Gas station robbery: 1:30 p.m., 1602 A St. SE. Somebody robbed the Jackpot Food Mart at gunpoint and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
