Credit card-ATM fraud: 11:59 p.m., 1425 Supermall Way. Someone swiped a woman’s diaper bag with her purse inside while she was in the Walmart parking lot. Later, someone tried to use her stolen credit card to buy gas.

Aug. 29

Arson: 2:30 p.m., 1825 K St. SE. Police investigated an intentionally-set grass fire at Olympic Middle School.

Theft: 8:10 p.m., 506 44th St. NW. Somebody spied two men stealing scrap metal from a scrap bin and placing it in a vehicle. The passenger skedaddled from police, officers busted the driver on a felony warrant, and the owner got his metal back.

Aug. 30

Fraud: 2:15 a.m., 2402 Auburn Way S. A woman tried to cash a bogus $250 check at the Muckleshoot Casino, so police arrested her for forgery.

Counterfeiting: 6 a.m., 2402 Auburn Way S. Police arrested yet another woman for forgery after she, too, tried to pass a confirmed fraudulent check for an undisclosed amount at the Muckleshoot Casino.

Theft from motor vehicle: 9:11 a.m., 1200 block of 30th Street Southeast. Somebody swiped a stereo of undisclosed value from a vehicle.

Theft from motor vehicle: Overnight, 5600 block of South 295th Place. An unknown somebody used unknown means to enter a work van and steal undisclosed items worth undisclosed amounts.

Theft of property: 11:14 a.m., 1502 Lake Tapps Parkway Southeast. Persons unknown stole a two full propane tanks from behind a business. Police did not disclose a value.

Theft of vehicle: 3:09 p.m., 915 4th St. NE. Somebody swiped an Auburn School District vehicle from the back parking lot of the district administration building.

Aug. 31

Vandalism: 9:15 p.m., 1733 22nd St. NE. Police arrested a man for an undisclosed act of third-degree malicious mischief at the Rivers Edge Apartments.
