Auburn Police investigate possible homicide

Auburn Police arrested a man Wednesday morning in connection to a possible homicide of a woman that occurred at a residence Tuesday in the 3400 block of I Street Northeast in Auburn.

Auburn Police arrested a man Wednesday morning in connection to a possible homicide of a woman that occurred at a residence Tuesday in the 3400 block of I Street Northeast in Auburn.

An Auburn man in his 40s was taken into custody and booked into King County Jail.

The victim, police said, is a woman in her 20s.

Police received information shortly after 2 p.m. Tuesday of the incident. Nearly simultaneous to Auburn Police receiving the information, the Kent Police Department received information about a body found near the 100 block of Russell Street.

The initial investigation led Auburn detectives to the Auburn address. Following a search, evidence found at the scene led police to believe that a crime of violence had taken place, said Auburn Police Cmdr. Mark Caillier

It was further determined that the body found in Kent is the victim of the incident reported in Auburn, authorities said.

Auburn detectives continue to investigate the incident.
