Auburn Police, VRFA to compete in chili cook-off at farmers market

The Auburn Police Department and Valley Regional Fire Authority will wage its chili cook-off at the Auburn International Farmers Market on Sunday.

The contest – part of Community Service Day – unfolds from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the market, 23 A St. SW., Sound Transit Plaza.

Taste testing and voting will be on a donation basis to support the Auburn Food Bank.

Market hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The market features more than 40 vendors, offering a variety of fresh locally grown farm-based foods, hand-crafted items, and concession stands that are restaurant-based but feature a home-cooked taste.
