Auburn Riverside, Olympic, Hazelwood winners in All School District Food Drive

The Auburn School District took in food donations from Feb. 21 to March 4.

Auburn Riverside High School, Olympic Middle School and Hazelwood Elementary were division champions. Olympic and Hazelwood are repeat winners.

Auburn Riverside students contributed 4,056 pounds of food and $3,165.87 in monetary donations. Olympic contributed 4,164 pounds and $1,249.41 and Hazelwood gave 8,966 pounds and $975. Each Hazelwood student donated an average of 16.635 pounds of food.

Runner-ups were Auburn Mountainview High School, Cascade Middle School and Dick Scobee Elementary.

The drive surpassed last year’s accumulation of 51,680 pounds.

“The students of the Auburn School District are to be commended for their heart,” said Debbie Christian, Auburn Food Bank executive director. “You come through, every time, just by being asked.

“The clients that you have helped by this generous donation are extremely grateful for your generosity.”
