Alpac and Hazelwood were recognized for overall excellence, Gildo Rey for overall excellence and math, and Ilalko for closing achievement gaps.
The award, sponsored by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction and the State Board of Education, is a highly-selective award based on a school’s performance according to the Washington Achievement Index, a comprehensive measurement of how schools in Washington are performing over the previous two years.
The award celebrates elementary, middle, high and comprehensive schools for overall excellence and special recognition in language arts, math, science, graduation rate, improvement and closing achievement gaps.
