Auburn school board to recognize outstanding staff member

The Auburn School District Board of Directors recognizes Alisa Louie, second-grade teacher at Evergreen Heights Elementary, for her outstanding service at 7 p.m. today in the James P. Fugate Administration building.

The Auburn School District Board of Directors recognizes Alisa Louie, second-grade teacher at Evergreen Heights Elementary, for her outstanding service at 7 p.m. today in the James P. Fugate Administration building.

Louie, who is in her eighth year teaching at Evergreen Heights, is the coordinator of the UW Tacoma project that connects interns with English language learners. She also is part of the school improvement team and a leader through the Puget Sound ESD as a blogger on resources for teachers.

“Alisa always goes above and beyond to help staff, students and parents,” said Lisa Greer, Evergreen Heights office manager. “We are so grateful for her valuable contributions.”

The school board recognizes Annalisa Battista, a fifth-grader at Terminal Park Elementary, for being an outstanding student. Battista is the type of student that helps make school a positive experience for everyone. She is a leader in and out of the classroom. She is an exceptional student in the gifted program, excelling both academically and socially. The ASB co-president plays in the band and has been in the chess club.
