The Auburn School District Board of Directors has unanimously selected Ryan Van Quill to represent District 5 on the school board.

Van Quill replaces Lisa Connors, who resigned in September to accept an executive secretarial position with the school district.

Van Quill was chosen among three applicants interviewed during a special board meeting Nov. 17. He will be sworn in during the regular board meeting at 7 p.m. Dec. 8. He plans to run for the open position next fall.

Van Quill, the general manager of Magnum Print Solutions, also serves on the board for Dynamic Family Services and is on the advisory board for Seattle’s Social Venture Partners.

He has lived in Auburn for 17 years. He has three children, the oldest having graduated from Auburn Mountainview High School last year, the other two still attending there.

“I believe the greatest gifts you can give a child are the tools to become independent and self-reliant,” Van Quill said. “Education is the greatest human equalizer, and I would like to use my time and talents in a way that aids all students within our district to achieve their maximum potential by helping the Auburn School District Board to accomplish its worthy mission.”
