The Auburn Senior Activity Center is taking participants into Seattle for a tour of the Paramount Theatre on April 1.
The trip leaves from the center, 808 Ninth St. SE, at 9:30 a.m. and returns at 3 p.m.
Cost is $11 for Auburn resident, $14 for non-residents.
The theatre opened in 1928 as the Seattle Theatre and was restored in 1995 at the cost of $20 million dollars, The Paramount Theatre has been brought back to its original splendor, just as Seattle audiences would have experienced it as they passed through the doors for the first time on March 1, 1928.
The convertible floor system at the Paramount Theatre provides the ability to configure the floor with theatre seating, a ballroom, a dance floor or dinner theatre. Built in Italy, this convertible floor is the only one of this size in the world.
After the tour, there will time for lunch and browsing downtown.
