A King County Natural Yard Care workshop on designing a natural lawn and natural pest control will be held 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, May 4 at Rainier Middle School, located at 30620 116th Ave. SE, Auburn.

During the first two workshops this season, Auburn has set an attendance record for the 10-year old King County program. The county has been conducting the workshops for 10 years to encourage residents to adopt natural yard care practices. This is Auburn’s sixth year of participating.

Each workshop is two hours long, featuring two speakers. A different neighborhood is targeted each season. At last week’s workshop, residents from Auburn’s Lea Hill neighborhood learned the fundamentals of smart watering and designing with plants. On Tuesday, they’ll learn about building a healthy lawn and natural pest control.
