The Auburn Valley Humane Society’s animal shelter and Pawsitive Alliance joined forces to present the second annual Statewide Shelter Open House Event on Saturday.

The AVHS shelter, at 4910 A St. SE, Auburn, opened its doors and brought in community members as honored guests

There were hourly drawings, raffle basket drawings and prizes.

The event shined a light not only on the AVHS but also on other animal shelters throughout the state and the homeless animals in their care.

Pawsitive Alliance worked with more than a dozen animal shelters to promote and help them grow their adopter, donor and volunteer bases — and to raise awareness of the good work that they do.
