The Auburn Community Players has announced auditions for its spring production, “Seussical The Musical”.

Auditions run from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 18 at the Auburn Ave Theater.

Those wishing to audition – performers ages 12 and older – please show up at the theater at 6:30 p.m. The theater will be opened at 6 p.m. to allow time to fill out audition paperwork and to stretch for dancing.

Individuals auditioning must come prepared with a current head shot/picture, 16 bars of a musical theater song. Bring sheet music in correct key, accompanist is provided. Dance audition will take place first please come dressed to dance.

“The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many “thinks.”

Horton faces a double challenge – not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left to his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping, and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family, and community are challenged and emerge triumphant.”

Musical show dates are June 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21 at 7:30 p.m. and June 8, 14, 21 at 2 p.m.

• Who: Performers ages 12 and older (There will be a workshop class for younger kids). Auburn Community Players auditions for “Seussical The Musical”
