The Washington State Auditor recently filed its 2009 report on the City of Pacific, and discovered no findings for the sixth straight year.

The 2009 Financial and Accountability Audits as well as a federal single audit inspected the City’s compliance with state laws and regulations, its own policies and procedures as well as the basic tenants of sound accounting principles.

“Since taking office, I have made it a point to close gaps and improve the accountability and transparency of your government,” said Mayor Richard Hildreth. “We still have areas we wish to improve on, but as the audit reports will show, the City of Pacific believes that our citizens deserve a government that is open and works to ensure the efficient and effective use of public resources.”

The report can be found online at www.sao.wa.gov/EN/Audits/Pages/Search/AuditReportSearch.aspx. Reports of the City and audits (both the accountability and the single audit for federal) as well as past audits going back to 1998 also are available.
