Authorities arrest suspect in Pacific home invasion, beating of elderly man

Pacific police arrested a suspect Thursday in the home invasion robbery and assault of on a 83-year-old man last Sunday.

Pacific police arrested a suspect Thursday in the home invasion robbery and assault of on a 83-year-old man last Sunday.

A multi-jurisdictional force, including Pacific police and a Seattle SWAT team, arrested the suspect without incident. He is in custody.

The suspected was not a Pacific resident and was arrested approximately 18 miles away from the city, according to Mayor Richard Hildreth.

About 1:30 p.m. last Sunday, the suspect broke into the man’s home in the 300 block of 2nd Avenue Southwest. The suspected entered the home through an open garage door. He was armed with a handgun.

The suspect took the victim’s wallet and a substantial amount of cash during the incident.
