Friends of shooting victim Josh Deraitus will host a benefit dinner and raffle at 5 p.m. Sunday at Jay Berry’s Cafe, 16341 SE Renton Issaquah Road, Renton.

Proceeds will go toward helping the Auburn native pay for medical bills accrued as a result of a road rage incident Jan. 2 in Federal Way. Deraitus lost his left eye and suffered severe damage to his face when an unknown assailant shot him while he was stopped at the intersection of Military Road and 304th Street SE.

Deraitus’ shooter – described as a nonwhite, possibly Hispanic male, 20 to 30 years old who was driving a black luxury sedan – is still on the loose. The Federal Way police have released a sketch of the shooter, and anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call 253-835-6835.

Deraitus’ friends and coworkers from the King County Water District No. 90, are hosting the benefit.

The dinner – which costs $15 for adults, $10 for children – will feature music, a raffle and spaghetti feed. Raffle tickets will be sold for $1 each.

Jay Berry donated space for the event.
