Benefit to help family of slain Auburn man

Friends and family have organized a benefit Saturday for Christopher Davis Johnson, a 27-year-old Auburn man who was killed in a February shooting.

Friends and family have organized a benefit Saturday for Christopher Davis Johnson, a 27-year-old Auburn man who was killed in a February shooting.

The benefit runs from 5-10 p.m. at The Sports Page, 2802 Auburn Way N. There will be raffles, silent auctions and a $10 spaghetti buffet.

All proceeds will help the family cover Johnson’s funeral and burial costs, as well as other liabilities brought on by the tragedy.

Some of the silent auction and raffle items include: two Mariners tickets; a complete Marrada skateboard; Marrada skateboard decks; Chris’s blue moped/scooter; Easter baskets; gift certificates from Action Tattoo, Jason’s Coffee Shop and Auburn Golf Course; and homemade cookies.

The Sports Page, Outhouse Printing and Marrada Skateboards are sponsoring the event.
