The annual City of Auburn Employee Giving Campaign raised $30,094 in total donations for area charities.

The campaign is an employee-fundraising effort that supports local, non-profit organizations. The objective of the campaign is to bring city employees together to obtain funding for local non-profit agencies.

The two-tiered effort included a pledge campaign during the month of November that earned $22,370 that will go toward the Auburn Food Bank, United Way of King County and United Way of Pierce County and an employee silent auction that garnered $7,724 to be split equally between the Auburn Food Bank, Auburn Youth Resources and Trillium.

“We were concerned with today’s economic conditions that we would not be able to do as much as we have done in the past,” said Commander Jamie Sidell, campaign chairperson. “But our businesses and employees actually surpassed last year’s total by almost $5,000. This is an amazing community.”
