Do the Puyallup and help change a life: Donations of gently used clothing supports Goodwill’s job training

A visit to the Puyallup Fair means fun for the whole family and a chance to help change a life through a donation of gently used clothes to Goodwill.

A visit to the Puyallup Fair means fun for the whole family and a chance to help change a life through a donation of gently used clothes to Goodwill.

An attended donation station will be located in the Gold Parking lot Sept. 17-20, during fair hours. Gently used clothes and household items will be accepted.

“Even a single box of clothes can help make the difference in supporting our job training and placement services,” said Terry A. Hayes, CEO. “Donors know they’re helping people go to work while enjoying the fair.”

Donors will receive a coupon good for 50 percent off breakfast or lunch at the Neighborhood Bistro or one free coffee drink at Goodwill’s Coffee Buzz. The bistro and Coffee Buzz, serving Starbucks products, are both located in Goodwill’s new Milgard Work Opportunity Center, which opened Sept. 14 at 714 S. 27th St. in Tacoma.

“We encourage everyone to come to the Fair and bring a donation,” said Hayes. “And we invite everyone to come to our new building and see the services we have available.”
