Downtown Sculpture Gallery Walking Tour invites the public to come along

Throughout Main Street, sculptures have enlivened, delighted and surprised downtown visitors. The public has an opportunity to meet the artists and discuss their works during a Downtown Sculpture Gallery Walking Tour, beginning at 7 p.m. April 24 at the Auburn Avenue Theater, 10 Auburn Ave.

Throughout Main Street, sculptures have enlivened, delighted and surprised downtown visitors.

The public has an opportunity to meet the artists and discuss their works during a Downtown Sculpture Gallery Walking Tour, beginning at 7 p.m. April 24 at the Auburn Avenue Theater, 10 Auburn Ave.

The program includes an opening dedication and reception, a short film that showcases aspects of the installation, artist interviews and a walk.

The walking tour begins at the western most sculpture, Francisco Salgado’s Jump, at B Street Southwest and West Main Street, and continues east along Main Street, culminating at the corner of East Main Street and D Street Southeast.

Artists with artwork on display will include Lin Rebolini McJunkin, Kris Vermeer, Kenneth Hall, Dan Klennert, Jennifer Ellsworth, Patricia Vader and Jennifer Ellsworth.

Lin Rebolini McJunkin’s Riparian Totem – the 2013 People’s Choice purchase award winner – will be dedicated and added to the City’s permanent collection.

The tour is free.
