April 24

Burglary: Overnight, 2822 Auburn Way N. Somebody broke a rear door lock and stole undisclosed property from the Pho Dinh restaurant.

Assault: 5:38 p.m., 4000 block of A Street Southeast. Police contacted a man for guzzling booze in public, whereupon the man became violent and tried to fight with police. For this, police arrested the man, charging him with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.

Arson: 11:54 p.m., 44 5th St. NE. Somebody set a stolen car ablaze in an alley.

Headlights off: 2:49 a.m., 1500 15th St. SW. A young man who had been watching illegal street racing drove away in the wee hours with his headlights off. Police caught up with him. His driving privilege was suspended, and a licensed driver assumed custody of the vehicle.

April 25

Stolen property: 3:02 p.m., 400 block of 37th Street Southeast. A man told police that thieves had lifted property from his vehicle in Seattle, but he had traced it back to to Auburn. The man bought his stolen cell phone back from two females, one of whom police arrested for possession of stolen property.

Vandalism: 5:08 p.m., 4900 block of Auburn Way South. Somebody caught two boys spraying graffiti on a fireworks stand. After a short but vigorous foot chase, police caught up with the two boys and arrested them for malicious mischief and obstruction of justice.

DUI alcohol or drugs: 10:34 p.m., 400 block of Auburn Way South. Police arrested and booked into jail a man for DUI and hit-and-run after he struck a police cruiser and just kept going. The liquored-up man then drove into oncoming lanes of traffic and hit another car. The man consented to a breathalyzer test, and he blew a .281 and a .269, more than three times the legal limit.

April 26

Shoplifting: 2:02 p.m., 1101 Supermall Way SW. Police arrested a boy at Nordstrom Rack for taking two pair of shoes and some earrings. When police searched the kid they found he had also lifted some mixed martial art gloves from Sports Authority. All items were recovered, and police released the boy at the scene.

Theft: 5:40 p.m., 3400 block of C Street Northeast While police were investigating a fuel theft, they arrested three people for wrongdoings including theft, malicious mischief, warrants, traffic offenses, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.

Theft: 9 a.m., 1200 block of Harvey Road Northeast. A man told police that somebody had stolen his camera from his girlfriend’s mother’s house. Police did not disclose a value for the camera.
