Between March 8 and March 13, the Valley Regional Fire Authority responded to 245 calls for service, among them the following.
March 8
Aid call: 7:07 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters and King County paramedics evaluated a woman who was having an episode of hypoglycemia. Once she was stabilized, a private ambulance transported her to a local hospital.
March 9
Semi rollover: 12:10 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters responded to a semi that was on its side after taking a curved section of a road too fast. The driver was uninjured. One lane was initially blocked for safety. Auburn police and the Washington State Patrol shut down the remaining lanes for their investigation and operations. All lanes of traffic were reopened by 6:30 p.m.
March 10
Accident: 5:24 a.m. (Auburn). Firefighters and Medic One paramedics responding to the 4200 block of A Street Southeast for a motor vehicle accident arrived to find a single-vehicle accident and one person with life-threatening injuries. Crews used extrication equipment to remove the person from the vehicle, and paramedics transported the person to Harborview Medical Center.
March 11
Aid call: 7:25 p.m. (Lakeland Hills). Firefighters examined a woman who was complaining of a marijuana overdose and anxiety attack, and a private ambulance transported her to MultiCare Auburn Medical Center.
March 12
Accident: 2:43 a.m. (Algona). Firefighters responding to a single-car rollover accident on West Valley Highway arrived to find a man with serious injuries. Firefighters and King County Medic One paramedics treated the man on the scene, and paramedics transported him to Harborview Medical Center for continued care.
Accident: 7:41 p.m. (Auburn). Firefighters and Auburn Police responding to a reported two-car accident near a local convenient store arrived to find a minor accident with no injuries.
March 13
Aid call: 9:03 a.m. (Pacific). Firefighters responding to an elderly man who was reported to be unconscious and in need of CPR arrived to find the man awake, but very weak. King County paramedics evaluated the man, who was quickly becoming stable, and determined he’d had a seizure. A private ambulance transported the man to a local hospital.
